Membership
Hermanus Yacht Club welcomes all sailors and their families, novice or experienced, and would be delighted to have you sharing the experience of this unique club and its facilities that lend themselves to world class competition sailing and fun filled family weekends.
Our younger members particularly enjoy the safe sailing conditions and not only can they participate in the Youth Training Initiative, they can also join in the other fun events and activities which include the annual Easter Egg Hunt and Christmas Party.
For teenagers there is the opportunity to join in Weekend Sailing, participate in Dinghy and Keelboat racing and to learn how to drive a Rescue Boat.
The Club attracts many people who have established their careers and are looking for a new pastime. The in-house training specialises in teaching children & adults how to sail Dinghies and the regular club sailing to various parts of the Lagoon enables the development of day sailing skills.
The social scene is very active with Sailing Suppers, games for children, dances, special dinners, Annual Closing Cruise Dinner and of course lots of fun at both Eatser & Christmas.
Racing is a core activity at the Club and a large band of volunteers drive the rescue boats and act as Race officers. Hermanus Yacht Club is regarded as a very friendly club by visiting sailors who attend National Championships, participate in the Western Cape Points Circuit and other races organised by the Club.
